REGISTER NATIONAL 2006 REPORT

JUNE 2006

OUR SOMERSET NATIONAL
from the organisers
Sharon and Derek Furnell

Wow, it’s all over and done now isn’t it. It’s amazing how fast the Saturday event seems to go. We really need to say a big thank you to many people - The Bristol Group, of course, who worked extremely hard and never complained once!! - so a big thanks to; Dave Watkins, Brian & Mary Bull, Pauline & Graham Furnell, Joan & Reg Beasant, Chris and Edna Thomas and Jamie Patterson. A big thank you also to Daniel Tittley, who helped run the tombola stand, Daniel and Jamie both aged 12 years old, worked hard. Thanks to Lee Godfrey for helping to take down all those gazebos on Saturday. Also thanks to Roger Carnell for collecting the 19 gallons of cider! Thanks also to Alan Chatterton for his help prior to the National.

The best bit about organising the National is that you get to know the members and even though myself and Derek have never missed a National since joining (I’ve attended nine and Derek has attended more) we still made many new friends. In the end we had an amazing nineteen units who had never attended a National. Everyone was friendly and welcoming which is one of our strong points as a club. I hope everyone enjoyed the National as much as we did.
